Top game with an exciting story
This game has stayed with me for so long. As a child, I didn't understand it at all, because the story is quite deep and my English wasn't that good yet, but as an adult, I can truly appreciate the beauty of this story. The story starts off quite simple and becomes more exciting as you progress.
Just a heads up: for some parts, it's handy to have Another Code: Two Memories and a pen ready.

Innovative Puzzles and Engaging Story on the DS
Another Code: Two Memories for the Nintendo DS is an adventure game that stands out due to its intriguing story, unique puzzles, and innovative use of the DS hardware. The game follows the story of Ashley Mizuki Robbins, a 13-year-old girl who is sent to a mysterious island in hopes of uncovering more about her parents and her past. The game combines an emotional narrative with creative puzzles, setting an impressive tone.

In Another Code: Two Memories, Ashley receives a letter and a mysterious device from her father, whom she thought was dead. This leads her to Blood Edward Island, where she hopes to discover not only her father but also the secrets of the island and her family history. Along the way, she meets D, a ghost with amnesia who plays a crucial role in the story. Together with D, Ashley unravels the mystery of her family and the island itself.

The story is strong and captivating, maintaining a calm tone throughout. The characters are portrayed with care and depth, and Ashley's emotional journey in her quest for answers makes the story memorable. The setting of Blood Edward Island has a mysterious and sometimes eerie quality, perfectly fitting the atmosphere of the story and the puzzles on the island.

Another Code: Two Memories cleverly utilises the unique features of the DS. You use the touchscreen, microphone, and dual screens to solve puzzles. The game requires you to perform various actions, such as tapping and dragging objects on the screen. Sometimes you even need to hold the DS at a certain angle or close and reopen it to progress in the story. This kind of interaction is refreshing and makes the puzzles creative and challenging.

The puzzles are varied and fit seamlessly into the story. They are generally logical, but sometimes require clever thinking or using the DS in unique ways. The difficulty level is reasonably balanced; they are generally manageable and align well with the pace and tone of the narrative.

The controls are simple and intuitive, and the interface is minimalist, allowing you to focus entirely on the story and puzzles without distractions. The dialogues are well-written, and the choices you make affect how Ashley experiences the story.

The graphics in Another Code: Two Memories are beautiful, featuring a lovely combination of 2D drawings and 3D environments. The world and characters are detailed and have a lovely art style. Blood Edward Island itself is a well-designed environment. The music also contributes to the atmosphere. The soundtrack is minimalist and supports the game's setting.

Another Code: Two Memories isn't a very long game; it can be completed in just a few hours. For some, this might be a downside, but the shorter playtime was not an issue for me. It ensures that it doesn't feel stretched out. The replay value is somewhat limited, despite the ending varying based on some choices made during certain dialogues. The differences aren't immensely significant, meaning most will likely stick to just one playthrough. Still, I don't see the short length as a drawback; it's short but powerful!

Another Code: Two Memories is a unique and engaging experience on the DS that has a lot to offer. The creative and inventive puzzles, combined with Ashley's immersive story, make it a fun and entertaining game. It's a unique experience that you really should give a chance.

Innovative Puzzles on the Nintendo DS
Another Code: Two Memories is a short but good example of how the DS system was used to elevate puzzle games to a new and previously unseen height. The puzzles are good, interesting, and not repetitive! I must say that with some puzzles, mechanics were introduced that I felt were not explained anywhere. The visual experience and music are decent for the DS. Furthermore, the game isn't particularly long. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth a recommendation!
