Open the cases
Deal or No Deal can be played with 1 or 2 players.
If you play as 1 player, you can choose from:
TV program

Vault game or
High / Low

In the TV program, you open cases containing a sum of money. Choose 1 case to keep at the beginning and then choose 5 different cases with a sum of money. You can't open the kept case yet, but you can open the rest of the cases. The money in the opened cases cannot be won anymore.
The banker offers a sum after every 5 cases. If you choose deal, you can keep the money, but if you choose no deal, you open another 5 cases.
After accepting the banker's offer, you can open the kept case. Then you see the amount you would have won if you continued opening cases.
It's a gambling game where you don't gamble or win real money.

In the vault game, you choose 3 cases. They have numbers that together form the correct combination to open the vault. Each time you get a hint if the numbers in the cases are too high or too low. You can open cases unlimitedly.

In High / Low, you choose a case to open. There is a sum of money in it. With the next case you choose, you have to guess if the amount is higher or lower than the previous one. The game continues until you guess the amount wrong.

With 2 players, you can play Deal or No Deal by making a Wi-Fi connection with another DS.
You can then choose between head to head or best deal.

It's not a game to play for a long time. It's fun because it's not real money involved. The game doesn't have a storyline.

Commercial Junk
Deal or No Deal is probably the worst game released for the Nintendo DSi. In this game, you have to open cases hoping to pick the right one with a nice amount of money, and you keep doing this until all the cases have been opened (with money inside). That's the whole game. The graphics are poor, and I can't imagine who thought this would be a fun game. I can't do anything else but give this game a big fat 1.

Product Description

Haha! Welcome to Deal or No Deal for the Nintendo DS, a game based on the popular TV show! In this game, just like in the show, you have the chance to test your luck and see if you can choose the right cases to strike a Fantastic deal. The game is hosted by the charismatic Howie Mandel, just like in the American version of the show.
The gameplay is simple yet oh so exciting! You select one case from a series of 26, each containing a different cash prize. Then, you must continue to open cases to reveal their contents while negotiating with the "banker" to see if you can strike a deal for a hefty profit! Brrr, the tension can be nail-biting at times!
Developed by Global Star Software, the game offers an addictive experience that keeps you coming back for more. It's a perfect blend of strategy and luck, and that's so much fun!

Historical Context

The Nintendo DS version of Deal or No Deal was released in 2007, during the heyday of the TV show. The game successfully brought the excitement and fun of the show Fantastically to the small screen. While the show itself was a hit in various countries, this game gave fans the opportunity to step into the shoes of the contestants themselves.

Expert Reviews

"Deal or No Deal for the Nintendo DS captures the excitement of the TV show, but the repetitive gameplay might not hold your attention for long," wrote IGN. GameSpot noted: "The game offers a decent simulation of the show, but lacks depth for long-term play."
