Optimize and Battle
In the game Front Mission, the emphasis lies on controlling and upgrading Mechs. This happens in a turn-based game mode: each turn, you can move your units and have them attack.

The focus in FM is heavily on the upgrades you perform and how you can tactically deploy your units. The graphics don't fully utilize the capabilities of the DS, but the deep gameplay more than makes up for it.

There is an engaging story, but the missions are the most thrilling and challenging aspect. Optimizing your Mechs is essential for success. You have to consider many things.

Despite the DS being well-suited for this type of strategy game, the layout of the game takes some getting used to. The units are sometimes hard to distinguish, and the menus are very small (but still readable). This makes playing with the stylus quite awkward, especially when you're in the car or on the train.

All in all, Front Mission is a great game for strategy enthusiasts. Expect to invest at least 40 hours in this game.
