On Tour is a successful version of the Guitar Hero series
Guitar Hero: On Tour allows you to unleash your inner rock star anywhere, without needing a guitar in your hands. In On Tour, the GBA slot of the DS is used for the Guitar Grip. It features four buttons that you need to press in time with the music as indicated on the screen. And in true style, you don't strum the guitar strings with your DS stylus, but with the included pick.
A portable guitar, that sounds quite complicated, doesn't it? That's right! Especially in the beginning, it takes some practice to play music and keep up with the rhythm. It's also important to support the hand holding your DS to prevent cramps. Once you get used to it, Guitar Hero works well, and before you know it, you'll be singing along with the music or shouting into the DS microphone to activate the bonus power.
Just like the Guitar Hero games on consoles, On Tour also has a storyline where you evolve from a novice musician to a rock star. You can play the story mode as both a guitarist and a bassist. The DS version features a whopping 30 songs ranging from calm to rocking tunes from the 1970s to the 2000s. The single player, multiplayer, and playlist of On Tour are similar to its predecessors. The only thing that's radically different is the controls, and even after getting used to them, some songs on the DS are nearly impossible to play flawlessly.
