How can you open all the mines in the cave at the waterfall in Harvest Moon DS?

There are four different mines available in the cave near the waterfall in Harvest Moon DS. When you first start, you won't see any mines yet. You need to unlock these mines. This can be done one by one. You should start with the first mine. You can unlock this mine by entering the cave very early in the morning or very late (after 9pm) with a hammer in your item slot. A cutscene with Carter will trigger, opening the first mine.
The first mine consists of 10 floors, and if you run on a floor, you will automatically fall one or more floors down. You can also find a staircase by digging with the shovel (how), which will take you one floor lower. Reach the 10th floor. Once you've done this, you can unlock the second mine by visiting Carter in the cave again, very early or very late, with a hammer in hand. The second mine will open as a result. Continue this process until you've accessed all 4 mines. The second, third, and fourth mines each have more floors. The fourth mine even has 65,535! You will fall in large numbers here, so don't worry. The further you progress in a mine, the more valuable items you can find.
