Varied levels and accessible controls for younger gamers
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs follows the adventures of Manny, Sid, Diego, and Scrat as they search for Sid, who accidentally ends up in an underground world of dinosaurs. Just like in the film. The game itself is a platformer where you navigate through various levels filled with puzzles. What I liked is that the game has a mix of action, platforming, and a bit of adventure, which makes it pleasantly varied, even for a kids' film game.
The levels are quite diverse: you run through icy environments, but also through dense jungle and caves, providing visual variety. The controls are simple and feel very accessible for younger gamers, but it also means that sometimes it was a bit too easy for me. Especially the platforming action isn’t super difficult. A plus point is that there are different characters to play with, each with their own powers and abilities.
The game is definitely fun for young and even older fans of the film! (If you're looking for a light-hearted game, that is.)
