Another Kirby gem!
Kirby: Power Paintbrush is a top game for the DS. Fun music, nice graphics, and enjoyable levels. But what makes this game truly fantastic is its unique concept and controls. Kirby is controlled using the stylus. By drawing lines and shapes, you can make Kirby move and defeat his enemies. So, if you're looking for a game that truly maximizes the stylus and provides a unique gaming experience, then this is the game for you.

Creative controls with the stylus make it unique and fun!
The Kirby: Power Paintbrush for the Nintendo DS feels a bit like a colourful art exhibition where you hold the brush yourself! Instead of the usual Kirby action, where you jump around and swallow enemies, you use the stylus to draw painterly lines that guide Kirby through the levels. It really feels like you are the director of the game, determining everything from platforms to even the enemies. It's as if you're bringing a painting to life while you play.

The colourful and funny chaos of Kirby Power Paintbrush makes it a unique experience. The game never really gets difficult, as the battles usually happen on their own when you simply steer Kirby in the right direction. This might make it less challenging for the seasoned gamer, but I think it’s just perfect for those looking for a relaxed and creative experience. The visual style and the use of the stylus make it one of the most innovative Kirby games I have played.

If you’re looking for a challenging Kirby game, you might want to skip this one, but personally, I found Kirby Power Paintbrush to be one of the most enjoyable Kirbys to play! The game offers a refreshing and artistic approach to the Kirby universe, and that makes it incredibly well-crafted and a real recommendation for anyone wanting to try something different.

Unique, but not quite great
Kirby: Power Paintbrush is a very unique game. You control Kirby with the stylus. You draw lines for Kirby to move over or under. It feels really good, navigating Kirby in large open areas is delightful. However, there's a little issue; the game lacks those large open areas. Often, you have very little space and Kirby keeps bumping into enemies because you can't draw a line quickly enough. There are many other things like this. The game becomes difficult after just a few levels for all the wrong reasons. The levels are confusing, the underwater sections are terrible, and Kirby often doesn't do what you want him to do.

The concept is good and as I mentioned, in some levels and areas, the controls feel fantastic. Unfortunately, this isn't frequent enough, and the rest of the game is frustrating, challenging, and simply not good. It's a shame because this game could have been amazing if the levels had been better.

Innovative stylus control makes Kirby: Power Paintbrush unique
Kirby: Power Paintbrush for the Nintendo DS is an enchanting platformer that gives a unique twist to the beloved Kirby universe. When I play this game, I take on the role of the cute pink hero Kirby, who must restore colour and vibrancy to a world tainted by the evil painting Dark Meta Knight. What truly sets this game apart is the innovative use of the stylus. Instead of traditional button controls, you draw platforms and obstacles on the touchscreen with the stylus, creating a unique interaction with the environment.

The levels are beautifully designed and feature a range of cheerful colours and creative designs that bring Kirby's fantasy world to life. Each world introduces new elements and challenges, providing a lovely variety in gameplay. From painting bridges to creating platforms to dodge enemies, the game encourages creativity and offers a playful way to solve puzzles.

The graphic style is cute and has a mix of 2D and 3D elements that make it visually appealing. Additionally, there are plenty of power-ups and collectibles to find, which makes the game even more enjoyable. The soundtrack is cheerful and the tunes stick in your head, evoking a nostalgic feeling. Although the challenge may not be too high, the creative gameplay more than makes up for it. Kirby: Power Paintbrush is not only a delightful experience for young gamers but also for older fans seeking nostalgia and innovation.

All in all, it’s a fantastic and innovative addition to the Kirby franchise that you definitely should try.
