Best multiplayer game for the DS
This is simply the best game to play with multiple people on the Nintendo DS. You can even play with others who don't have the game. However, in that case, you can only play the first 2 cups. But the battle mode is not limited by this.
In battle mode, you can play Balloon Battle and Shine Runners. In Balloon Battle, you have to pop each other's balloons by throwing items at each other. In Shine Runners, as time passes, you have to collect as many shines as possible, which you can also steal from each other.
Mario Kart DS is truly a fantastic game!

A fun game just like we're used to from Nintendo. Mario Kart DS is a user-friendly game where the goal is to race and win as many laps as possible against your opponents. The game can be played both alone and with multiple players, and it gives you the opportunity to customize the cars and motorcycles to your liking. Because you can unlock new characters continuously, the game never gets boring and remains a fun game for all ages!

Definitely one of the best Mario Kart games of them all!
Mario Kart DS was my first game in the series, but how do I view it 10 years later? Is it still my favorite? Here is my opinion on Mario Kart DS!

Let's first talk about the new features and the appearance of the game. For the DS, the graphics and visuals are quite good. It is also the first handheld Mario Kart where you have a good sense of depth perception (Super Circuit for the GBA didn't really have this and made the game a bit more challenging). In terms of new features, this game also brought a lot of new things. You had Mission mode, a mode where you have to complete certain missions. This is one of the best features that never appeared in later games, which is very unfortunate because this mode was a lot of fun. This is also the first game where you could play VS mode with just 1 player, which is definitely a good new feature.

For me, the playable characters and the races also play a significant role in racing genre games. In this game, there are 12 characters. Many of them are characters that have been in every Mario Kart, but there are also new ones, like Dry Bones and R.O.B.. The latter is a strange choice, but it doesn't matter much. This game brings both new races and old races in the form of the so-called retro tracks. The new races are very cool, and they have also chosen good old races.

Other things that I like or don't like are:

+ Battle mode is the best to play on this Mario Kart, especially in multiplayer.
- No more online service.
- Creating your own emblem for your kart is a nice idea, but you hardly ever see the emblem while playing.

And that's it. My opinion about the game hasn't really changed much, the game is almost perfect, with just a few minor things, but definitely worth the money!

An okay game
Mario Kart DS is nothing special. It's just another Mario Kart and the formula doesn't change here. The graphics are a bit blocky, but the gameplay makes up for it. Even though the formula is old, it still works. Racing alone or with friends remains very enjoyable and can lead to some hilarious moments. If you love Mario Kart, then buy this game. If you're looking for something new, you're better off searching elsewhere.

Best battle mode of all Mario Kart games
Excellent multiplayer game. Mario Kart is not a game you'll have much fun with on your own. It's especially enjoyable to play with multiple people. Races are fun, but the battle mode (balloon battle) is where Mario Kart DS truly shines. Battle royale, blasting everyone away on large stages until only one person is left, with no time limit. This game can be played with up to 8 people at once.

A great game to play with friends!
With Mario Kart DS, the goal is to race with Mario and his friends on various tracks in the Mario universe. There is a total of 32 race tracks, 16 of which are new and 16 from older Mario Kart games.

Nintendo has once again outdone themselves and created a great Mario Kart game. The single player mode can feel a bit repetitive after playing all the tracks once. However, the game also features missions where you have to complete certain objectives with different characters on tracks you've already raced on. Once completed, there is a boss battle.

Where this game still shines today is in its chaotic multiplayer mode. You can race against up to 8 friends at once, and you can do this with just 1 cartridge! The downside is that those without a cartridge can't choose their character and kart.

I definitely recommend this game for playing with friends, although the single player mode is not bad either.

One of the Best Mario Karts
Mario Kart DS is one of my favorite Mario Karts and one of my favorite DS games. This game features many tracks, excellent controls (including power sliding), cool music, lots of content, ... in short, a superb game. There's not much more to say. A must-have for every DS owner and even a reason to specifically get a DS.

Fun with Friends
A really fun game, just not the kind of Mario Kart you can play for hours on end. Mario Kart DS is a bit too simple with all the standards still in place. Playing alone, this isn't the most entertaining game to keep you occupied. However, the multiplayer mode, on the other hand, is super fun when playing with friends. It's a blast with friends, and of course, Balloon Battle is the most fun to play together. Not recommended if you're playing by yourself, but great with friends.

Very fun game
Mario Kart DS is a very fun game! You start with the usual characters Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Bowser. And you can unlock these characters: Daisy, Wario, Dry Bones, R.O.B (robot). As the game progresses, you can unlock new races and characters by achieving silver or gold. You can also complete missions that you need to accomplish. There's a star race where you have to collect stars within a certain time, or else you lose. And there's the balloon race where you shoot balloons from your enemies, and the first one to defeat all characters wins the game.
You can also play the game with others who have a DS, up to 8 people.

Great with friends!
Personally, racing games aren't really my thing, I'm actually really bad at them. But Mario Kart is different. Once you start playing this game with multiple people, you can count on being busy for a while. Mario Kart offers super fun multiplayer options like regular races or balloon battles. And if you have the opportunity to play with eight people... You won't be stopping anytime soon!

This game is one of my favorite Mario Kart games ever. The graphics are fantastic, the music is great, and you can even play with multiple people. Mario Kart DS is a big upgrade from Mario Kart Super Circuit for the GBA. It's in 3D and there are many more characters. You can even unlock new characters.

Best Mario Kart Ever
Mario Kart DS is the Mario Kart I grew up with. Everything about this game is perfect. The controls feel almost perfect. The drifting, the steering, everything is spot on. The tracks and various Grand Prixs are also amazing, offering a lot of variety. One moment you're racing over chocolate mountains and the next on a rainbow. In addition to regular races, there are challenges and boss fights. You can also play against your friends. You can compete in Grand Prixs with them and face off in Battle Mode. Mario Kart DS is a fantastic game and also affordable. Don't hesitate, I'd say!

Nostalgia
Mario Kart DS is in my opinion the best Mario Kart game out there, although I might be a bit nostalgic for this game.

Let's start with what the game has to offer: The game features 8 cups, each with 4 tracks, totaling to 32 tracks in total, a battle mode, 12 playable characters (not counting Shy Guy), and a variety of different karts to choose from. The gameplay is fantastic, and you will have hours of fun with it, whether in the single-player Grand Prix races, multiplayer mode, or during missions (where you can take on various bosses). In my opinion, this is the best installment of Mario Kart ever made, but as mentioned earlier, I might be a bit nostalgic.

In the Battle Mode of Mario Kart DS, just like in previous Mario Karts, you have balloons as lives. If your balloons are gone, you've lost. Because the mechanics can be a bit tricky, here's a bit more explanation:

Inflating
To inflate your balloons, you need to blow into the DS microphone. Just make sure you're not pressing the gas pedal, as blowing won't work then. You can also do this with the select button, but it's slower.

Stealing
You can also steal balloons from opponents or teammates by hitting them at high speed (mushroom boost). But if you already have the maximum number of balloons (3), no extras will be added.

Strategy
You always start with 1 inflated balloon and 3 extra reserves. It's risky to drive around with just 1 balloon, so it's best to inflate a second one. You can inflate 3 for extra security, but then you won't have an advantage when stealing a balloon (if you're already at the maximum number of balloons). Additionally, the items you get from the item boxes are better when driving with fewer balloons.

The Battle mode of Mario Kart DS is extremely addictive and one of the best in the Mario Kart series :).
