The holy grail of Pokémon games!
Very few RPGs (role-playing games) are perfect, but this one comes close! The game is a beautiful remake of Pokémon Gold on the original Nintendo Gameboy! The graphics look stunning, the use of colors is refreshing to see as most games nowadays only use black, brown, and other dark shades.

I won't have to explain to anyone how Pokémon gameplay works, as this well-known formula remains unchanged in this version. But as they say, 'If It ain't broke, don't fix it'!

Due to its charm and classic gameplay, I personally find Pokémon HeartGold Version to be something very special. It's a game for Pokémon veterans and newcomers to the franchise!

Definitely give this game a try, you won't be able to stop playing because 'You gotta catch 'em all!'

A fantastic Pokémon adventure
Pokémon HeartGold Version and SoulSilver are remakes of the old games Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver.

Personally, I find this to be one of the best Pokémon games you can get your hands on. Pokémon HeartGold Version has so much to offer. You explore the Johto region with your favorite Pokémon and collect all 8 gym badges to eventually take on the ultimate challenge of becoming the Johto champion.

Most Pokémon games have some endgame content, but not to this extent. Pokémon HeartGold Version and SoulSilver, on the other hand, allow you to explore a completely new region. Once you become the champion, you can also explore the Kanto region. This adds so much more to the experience.

Additionally, there's the Pokéwalker. A fun accessory that is essentially a pedometer.

After 10 years, this game still stands out as a top choice in terms of gameplay and visuals. A must-have for any Pokémon enthusiast.

Best storyline and graphical masterpiece for the DS
For me, Pokémon HeartGold Version is absolutely the best Pokémon game in the series. The storyline is captivating and you can easily lose yourself in it for hours. Especially the Kanto region is incredibly fun to explore again. During my quest, I came across all sorts of interesting and enjoyable locations, and the Pokémon you can catch in this region are really awesome!

The battles in Pokémon HeartGold Version are just as you would expect: turn-based and always exciting. They manage to keep my attention time and time again, without ever getting boring. The strategic element makes each battle unique and challenging.

Graphically, this version of Pokémon is also a gem, especially by Nintendo DS standards. The combination of the vibrant visuals and the iconic tunes makes it a joy to dust off your old DS and play the game again. All in all, Pokémon HeartGold Version offers a perfect Pokémon experience for both newcomers and seasoned Pokémon fans. For me, this game is truly a must-have!

Great game, definitely recommend.
This game was my first self-purchased Pokémon game, it is a remake of Pokémon Gold from the 90s/early 2000s. Pokémon HeartGold Version looks pretty good in my opinion. What was new (and for the only time), was walking with your Pokémon behind you, it also includes features from Crystal. It's a recommended game if you love Pokémon games and enjoy having your Pokémon walk behind you. Originally, it also came with a Pokéwalker (which is a pedometer where you can send your Pokémon from the in-game boxes to via infrared).
When I bought this game, I barely understood English, so I taught it to myself. It's a brilliant game and Team Rocket is also in it, if you don't know English, you either have to learn it or not play the game, as there is a lot of text in it, so that's a downside.

The ultimate Pokémon game!!
As a fan, I grew up playing the old Pokémon Gold. After getting a DS, I decided to give Pokémon HeartGold Version a try. It's a reissue and significantly improved version of the old Pokémon Gold. The story, the trainers, and their Pokémon are mostly the same as the old version. Only the graphical display is such a huge improvement compared to the old version. This game is like your old favorite car that you were so attached to, being polished and refurbished to the point where it feels like it's rolling out of the factory again and has even become better. The fun part of this game is that the first Pokémon in your pack follows you. It is depicted as if it is real, so every unique Pokémon can follow you. In addition, the extra stories and activities that have been added are a huge enrichment. Besides the National Park game, as in the old version, you can now also visit a Safari Zone in Cianwood Town. You can participate in the Pokéathlon and Battle Frontier, where battle points can be earned for cool items and move tutor attacks. Just like in the old version, this game also includes the epic epilogue, where the entire world of Kanto can be explored. This means a total of 16 badges can be earned!!! The game has also been updated to its time, so the 'newer Pokémon' from previous games are obtainable in it.

All in all, a rediscovery of an old game in a new guise, it doesn't get any better!!!!

Discover both Johto and Kanto regions for double the fun!
It is a true pleasure to play Pokémon HeartGold Version. This game primarily takes place in the Johto region, known from Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. What I find fantastic about this game is that you can also travel to the Kanto region, which we know from Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Yellow, and Pokémon Red. This means you can earn as many as 16 badges, providing a rich and immersive experience!

Because you can explore both the Johto and Kanto regions, you have the chance to catch more legendary Pokémon. This doubles the fun and makes the game even more engaging. Additionally, there are Pokémon from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl present, which adds a nice extra dimension to the game.

A cool detail that really stood out to me is that the first Pokémon from your team follows you around. How cool is that! It adds a personal touch to your adventure. For both new and traditional fans, Pokémon HeartGold Version and SoulSilver Version are truly the ultimate Pokémon games. The combination of nostalgia and new elements makes this game incredibly well-crafted and an absolute must-play!

Fun game, the game lasts a good while
What a fun game! Especially because Pokémon HeartGold Version and Soulsilver are remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver. What makes the game even more enjoyable is the addition of new Pokémon to catch. What I particularly like is that you receive a second starter later in the game. Being able to travel through the Kanto region makes the game pleasantly long and challenging.

Beautiful game with many different twists
I have completed this game several times now. Master Balls are not really necessary, Ho-Oh is quite easy to catch with a good number of Ultra Balls. The only Pokémon that are tricky are Suicune, Raikou, and Entei. Additionally, you can easily train your Pokémon in gyms and in the grass, and the game is clearly explained.
Pokémon HeartGold Version is definitely recommended.

Almost Perfect Pokémon Game
Pokémon HeartGold is one of the very best games in the Pokémon game series. Not only are the 2D sprites sharper than ever (and almost all sprites from Platinum have even received a makeover), but this is one of the few games in the series where you can earn more than 8 badges. When you finally feel like you've seen and played everything in Johto, defeated the gyms, elite four, and champion, most other Pokémon games would be done, but here you still have the entire Kanto region to explore! Complete with another 8 badges, a stronger elite four and champion, and even some additional story segments. This is why this is the Pokémon game that I personally have enjoyed the longest, and hopefully you will too!

Super game!
What do I love about Pokémon HeartGold Version! It's great to battle against the enemy that is actually called Team Rocket. What I especially appreciate are the 16 gyms you can challenge. What I find less enjoyable about Pokémon HeartGold Version is that you constantly get calls from all sorts of people telling you they caught a Rattata. And if you don't use that phone, you'll miss out on a lot of items. A bit annoying, really!

Pokémon HeartGold Version is the best game I have ever played!!
I am a huge Pokemon fan and I have literally played every original Pokemon game. And I have come to the conclusion that Pokemon HeartGold truly takes the number 1 spot! I have played the game multiple times and I have definitely enjoyed over 100 hours of gameplay.
This is simply a game you must have. This game comes highly recommended and in my opinion, it is the best Pokemon game and even the best game I have ever played!

In 2009, you could receive a special Arceus for Pokémon Platinum through an event at Toys R Us, which you could use in your game. In the HeartGold and SoulSilver games, you have the Ruins of Alph, a place where you can find fossils and solve a few puzzles. With the Arceus you received in 2009, you can now unlock one of the 3 Sinnoh legends. To do this, you need to enter the house located in the Ruins of Alph. Talk to a man and he will take you to the SinJoh Ruins. There you will encounter Cynthia, who will lead you to a temple. Here, you can choose from the following pokémon: Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina. When you obtain one of these pokémon, it will be at level 1.

The name 'Girafarig' is really special. If you reverse 'Girafarig', you still get 'Girafarig'. The same goes for 'Alomomola'. It's pretty neat to discover palindromes in Pokémon. However, Alomomola is a Generation 5 Pokémon, so you won't find it in this game.

At the peak of Mount Silver, you'll encounter a Pokémon trainer. This trainer is Red. When you engage in conversation with him, a battle ensues. His team consists of Pikachu, Charizard, Venusaur, Lapras, Blastoise, and Snorlax. Red boasts the highest leveled Pokémon in Pokémon HeartGold Version. He also employs a strategy. He always leads with Pikachu, but it usually faints after one turn. His Venusaur knows the move Sunny Day, giving Charizard an advantage. Oh, and during the battle, there's hail, but his Lapras is immune to it! This is a very challenging battle!

Go to the Pokemon Center in Violet City of Pokémon HeartGold Version. Talk to Primo (The man in the white shirt, to the right of the PC). He will ask if you want to give your opinion of him. Say yes. A screen will appear where you can enter two words. If you give the correct combination of words, depending on the combination, he will give you an egg from which Mareep, Wooper, or Slugma will hatch, or a Wallpaper for the Boxes in your PC.

But how do you know which combination is correct? This combination varies per game, so there is no standard combination for each thing that Primo can give you, but there is a solution. Go to this page of Pokewiki. Fill in the relevant information for you and enter the combination of words that appears there. Another screen will appear, where you need to enter two words again. Enter the correct combination again. If all is well, Primo will then give you something, depending on the combination.
