At the end of 2018, a few Pokémon fans managed to find a glitch in the games that allows you to adjust the DNS settings. This lets you trade and battle online again, and you can also receive mystery gifts like the Member's Pass and Oak's Letter on an original cartridge without hacking.

Have you accidentally defeated Giratina without catching it the first time you battled it? Don't worry, you still have a chance to catch it!
After defeating the Elite 4, Giratina will respawn.
Go back to the cave in Sendoff Spring and look for the room where Giratina is waiting for you. This time, it will be in its other form. Once you catch this Giratina, you can go through the portal and obtain the Griseous Orb, which will allow it to change into its original form and boost its Dragon and Ghost attacks.

How do you migrate Pokémon from your GBA games to the Pal Park?
Axtasma |
| 1902 |
After obtaining the National Pokédex, you can head to the Pal Park in Pokémon Platinum Version. Here, you can play a Catching Show. However, this is only possible if you have selected 6 Pokémon that you want to migrate from your GBA game. You can do this by starting your DS or DS Lite with Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver in your DS slot, and Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen, FireRed, or Emerald in your GBA slot. This can only be done with a DS or DS Lite (not a DSi). Start your DS game and in the menu, you will see an option 'migrate from *name of GBA game*'. Select this option and choose the 6 Pokémon you want to migrate. Then, you can play a minigame in the Pal Park where you have to catch the Pokémon. Once you've done that, you can keep them. Keep in mind that you cannot send migrated Pokémon back, so think carefully before doing this. You can only do this once a day (except in HeartGold and SoulSilver). This is essential if you want to complete your Pokédex.

How can I easily catch Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Platinum Version?
Ruben |
| 13 jaar |
In other games, this can be difficult, or you just throw a Master Ball, but in this game, you have False Swipe. This is an HM that you can buy at the Veilstone Department Store in Veilstone City of Pokémon Platinum Version. With this move, there will always be 1 HP left on a Pokémon. If your attack is strong enough, 1 HP will remain. This way, you can catch that legendary Pokémon much easier. False Swipe can be taught to these Pokémon: Garchomp, Kricketune, Skorupi, Drapion, Weavile, Gliscor, and Gallade.
Hopefully, this has helped!

How can I discover the island in the North of the region after defeating the champion in Snowpoint City?

When you look at the map, you'll see an island in the northeast. Once you've completed Pokémon Platinum Version (defeated the champion), you can take a boat from Snowpoint City to that island. If you've seen all the Pokémon in the regional dex, you can fully explore the island. There are buildings where you can hold battles. You'll encounter many strong Pokémon and trainers, and you can even get your own villa.

How can you catch Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in Pokémon Platinum Version?
Axtasma |
| 1902 |
After receiving the National Pokédex, head to Eterna City in Pokémon Platinum Version. In one of the houses, you will find Professor Oak. Talk to him and he will tell you that lately he has seen 3 legendary Pokémon flying around Sinnoh that look familiar to him. These are Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. These 3 are roaming around Sinnoh, so you can find them anywhere. But once you battle them, they will try to escape. There is a program on your Pokétch that allows you to see where the roaming Pokémon are located. (Also useful for Cresselia and Mesprit) You cannot see which one it is, but that's not really a problem.
To prevent them from escaping, you need to use a move like Mean Look or Block, but make sure you attack first. If you have a slow Pokémon, the Quick Claw can come in handy!
Secrets:
How can I catch Rotom in Pokémon Platinum Version?
Le_jordy |
| 243 |
You can catch a sort of semi-legendary Pokemon right after the 2nd gym in Pokémon Platinum Version. To do this, you need to go to the Eterna Forest. When you enter from Eterna City, after taking a few steps, you will see a large house and a few trees on your right where you need the HM cut (you get this after winning the 2nd gym). Once you have cut down the trees, you can enter the large house. If you want to catch Rotom, it needs to be nighttime. First, go up the stairs and take the middle entrance. Then enter the room where a TV is located (which should be the 3rd room). Stand in front of the TV and press A, and suddenly you will battle Rotom!
Rotom is an Electric and Ghost type, so watch out for its electric attacks on your Water and Flying Pokemon! It is level 20, and the best Poke Balls to use for this are Dusk Balls.

How can I find more Pokémon using the Poké Radar?
Axtasma |
| 1902 |
With the Pokéradar, you can find new Pokémon that are not included in the Sinnoh Pokédex of Pokémon Platinum Version. There are quite a few Pokémon that can only be obtained this way if you are unable to migrate from generation 3 games or trade with Heartgold and/or Soulsilver. When using the Pokéradar, head towards a patch that is shaking vigorously, as they have a higher chance of containing rare Pokémon. The following Pokémon can only be found this way:
