Great start to a fantastic series
Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a puzzle game that also places a strong emphasis on its storyline. You investigate a village as Professor Layton and his assistant Luke, where strange occurrences are taking place. To progress in the story, you'll need to solve numerous puzzles. These range from sliding puzzles to math problems. The puzzles start off relatively easy, but towards the end, they become quite challenging, requiring you to use hint coins. These are coins scattered throughout the village that you can use to receive a hint for the puzzle you're stuck on.
If you choose to solve most of the puzzles, it will take you around fifteen hours to reach the (very surprising) end of the story. However, if you aim to solve all the puzzles, it will take at least twenty hours.
All in all, this is a lengthy puzzle game with a fantastic storyline. It serves as a great introduction to the Layton series, which only gets better from here on out!

Puzzle game with a story (in English)
Professor Layton is a very fun and interesting puzzle game. The game has a very nice story, but unfortunately, there is no Dutch language option in Curious Village. So, it is recommended to be able to understand English.
What I like most is that you can find new puzzles almost everywhere by tapping on objects, and if you don't find a puzzle, you might find a hint coin instead. There is certainly a lot to do in this game, and the puzzles do get a bit tougher towards the end, but that's also what makes it fun.
If you have never played a Professor Layton game before, I would definitely recommend trying one, and you might as well start with this one because Professor Layton and the Curious Village is the first in the series.
